Blount County Auto Parts Supplier Grows, Creates 90 Jobs
KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (WATE) – Auto parts maker is creating 91 jobs and investing $ 5.5 million to modernize and expand its Blount County plant. Flex-N-Gate made the announcement Tuesday.
An automotive original equipment supplier specializing in the manufacture of plastics, metal, lighting and mechanical assemblies, Flex-N-Gate employs approximately 185 people at its Rockford plant.
“We are grateful that Flex-N-Gate has the confidence to make this investment in our community,” said State Representative Jerome Moon of Maryville.
Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe said the state is home to more than 900 auto suppliers and has seen more than $ 2.3 billion invested in the sector since last year.
“Supporting businesses in our auto industry is key to the success and growth of Tennessee’s economy. I am pleased that Flex-N-Gate is expanding its operations in Rockford and I thank them for creating over 90 new jobs in Blount County, ”Governor Bill Lee said.
Flex-N-Gate was founded in the 1960s and manufactures bumpers, spare tire lifters, lights, frames and more around the world. Its headquarters are in Urbana, Illinois.
