New digital signs displaying available spaces make parking easier in Ipswich

Finding a parking space in Ipswich is now easier thanks to the installation of five new digital signage signs across the town. These signs detail the number of spaces available in certain public car parks in the city centre.

The panels are also beneficial for the environment; they reduce unnecessary journeys in search of a parking space and thus improve air quality.

Cllr Sophie Connelly, portfolio holder for parking at Ipswich Borough Council, says:

“These signs will help people see where to park their car when they go into town. They are there to help people get to where they want to go quickly and this is part of the work the Council is doing to make the city center even more attractive and to help the growing number of those who travel to the center of Ipswich. These panels were also installed for their environmental benefits of reducing journeys and improving air quality.

Signs are located in Argyle Street, Fore Hamlet, Handford Road, Norwich Road and Princes Street.
