Storm Stacey will remain with LKQ Euro Car Parts Kawasaki for the 2022 BSB season | British superbikes
Storm Stacey will be competing in his third consecutive BSB season after agreeing to stay with the LKQ Euro Car Parts Kawasaki team.
After picking up two points in her debut season (2020), Stacey earned her first BSB top ten of 2021 with a sixth-place finish at Donington Park, a result that remains her best to date.
As well as her decisive race result, Stacey also made her first front row start after setting the second-fastest lap in the first race of the penultimate round – again at Donington Park.
“Obviously I’m thrilled to be back with the Brent team for a fourth season as it’s been completely successful so far; we’ve had ups and downs, but mostly ups!” Stacey said. “I’m looking forward to a great season this year – my expectations are high, but realistic.
“I’m delighted to be in for some good battles and the goal is to be in the top ten consistently – that must be the goal for the 2022 season.
“I want to thank LKQ Euro Car Parts for their continued support, STAUFF, all of our team partners, my personal sponsor Autotech Academy and of course Brent. I’ve been training harder than ever so I can’t wait to get get him back racing and see all the fans back on the track. Go for it!”
Stacey is the fifth Kawasaki rider to be confirmed for the upcoming season after Rory Skinner, Lee Jackson (FS-3 Kawasaki), Liam Delves and Josh Owens (Rapid CDH Racing Kawasaki).
The team has also extended its title partnership for a third year with LKQ Euro Car Parts, the leading automotive, LCV and specialist parts distributor in the UK and Republic of Ireland, with over 280 branches, stocking over 100,000 different pieces.
Team owner Brent Gladwin added: “I am extremely pleased and delighted to extend our agreements with Storm and LKQ Euro Car Parts. As Storm enters our fourth season together, and his third at BSB, he will still be only 18; this is unprecedented in Superbike racing.
“I am also proud that we can continue our excellent relationships with our very important current team partners, whilst welcoming new ones. Alan Morris, RS PRO, R&G, Belgrave Motors, DP Services and IKM We also welcome the Autotech Group to a team partnership.
“We have big ambitions for the Superbike team and I look forward to announcing more fantastic news about the STAUFF Fluid Power Kawasaki very soon!”
